A fixed access ladder is a fixed ladder designed to provide safe vertical access to roofs, platforms, plant areas, mezzanines, and other elevated locations. It is intended for regular, controlled access where portable ladders are not suitable.
02) Which UK regulations apply to fixed access ladders?
Fixed access ladders in the UK are governed by the Work at Height Regulations 2005 and relevant standards such as BS 4211:2005 and BS EN ISO 14122-4:2016, which cover design, installation, and fall-risk control.
03) When is a safety cage required on an access ladder?
