London Commercial Building Project

Kite Group supplied bespoke ball-standard handrails, mesh infill panels, and clamp fittings for a modern commercial building in London, enhancing safety and sustainability.

Project Overview

This London commercial property project transformed two existing buildings into a single sustainable structure, reusing 50% of the original superstructure and 100% of the substructure.

The building received recognition for its structural steel design and carbon neutrality, demonstrating how innovative reconfiguration and reuse can achieve both environmental and architectural excellence.

Did You Know?

London’s smallest statue, the Philpot Lane Mice Sculpture, depicts two mice fighting over cheese. It commemorates two builders who tragically died during the construction of the Monument to the Great Fire of London, after a row over a missing sandwich — later blamed on mice.

Kite’s Contribution

Kite Group supplied a customised three-ball standard handrail system, designed to integrate seamlessly with the building’s layout and safety requirements:

  • Custom Engineering: Precision laser cutting at the post ends allowed secure fixing to mounted base plates.

  • Enhanced Safety: Bespoke brackets supported mesh infill panels, preventing falls and improving overall protection.

  • Secure Connections: Galvanised tube clamp fittings ensured strong, long-lasting joints between handrail sections.

Through tailored design and timely delivery, Kite helped create a safe, compliant, and durable handrail system that aligned with the building’s sustainable and award-winning construction.
